Terms of service

The small print, kept small.

Using Faraday

These terms cover your use of the Faraday app, and by using it you agree to them. You may use Faraday on devices you own or control. Our privacy policy explains how Faraday handles your information.

The sounds and artwork

Faraday’s sounds, artwork, design and software belong to Faraday Sounds and its licensors, including Ocular Sounds. Some recordings are licensed for use inside the app only, so please don’t copy, extract, share or sell them. The open-source software in Faraday is used under its own licenses, listed in Settings under Licenses.

Radios and staying reachable

Faraday shows which radios are on and can take you to their switches, but it never switches a radio itself. With radios off or Airplane Mode on, your phone may miss calls, messages and emergency alerts. When to disconnect is your choice, and so is staying reachable when you need to be.

Sleep and safety

Faraday is a sound machine, not a medical device, baby monitor or alarm. Keep the volume low and the phone at a distance from anyone sleeping, especially babies and young children, and never put it in a crib or under a pillow. Playback and the sleep timer depend on your device, its battery and its settings, so don’t rely on Faraday where a missed or interrupted sound could cause harm.

Other services

The App Store and Google Play, and Apple’s Shortcuts app, which Faraday can use to help you switch radios off on iPhone, are provided by Apple and Google under their own terms.

Changes to Faraday

Faraday changes as we improve it. Updates may add, change or remove sounds and features.

Our responsibility

We make Faraday with care, but we provide it as it is, without a promise that it will always work or be free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using Faraday or being unable to use it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Changes to these terms

Any changes to these terms will be published with the updated app and at faradaysounds.com/terms.
